Overview of snowshoeing

The perfect place to see the vast majority of sports and the energy overflowing from the transition zone!

The snowshoeing

Due to the mild temperatures of winter 2025, the Sun Life Pentathlon des neiges team had to completely change the courses just days before the event, condensing the routes onto the Grande Plaine of the Plains of Abraham, where you are now. With nearly 100% satisfaction from participants, the 2026 edition returns with this same course, born from an improvised solution. Enjoy the view from this terrace, where binoculars are available for you.

Clue for the 3rd item in MALLETTE’s briefcase

I have no legs, yet I run everywhere,
I have no name, yet I identify you.
Hung in front, never behind,
I tell who you are without speaking. Who am I?

Don’t forget to write down your answer!

Active station

Check out snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skating, and stay warm by doing 10 vertical jumps!

Did you know that?

At the site where the Ice Skating Rink of the Plains of Abraham is now located, there used to be a track for horse racing. Although the first horse race as a sporting event is believed to have been in 1767, regular races did not take place in Quebec City until, above all, the creation of the Quebec Turf Club in 1789. This club held at least one race a year until the 1830s, eventually moving its activities to Ancienne-Lorette in 1847.

Meet up at Point 4, as the runners arrive, to watch the athletes complete their challenge.
