Did you know that?
Near the Cross of Sacrifice was once located the Quebec Skating Rink. The last rink to bear this name was opened in 1891. It was used not only for skating but also for hockey games, including those of the Quebec Hockey Club. Nicknamed the Quebec Bulldogs, this club had a lineup with such Hockey Hall of Fame members as Joe Malone, Joe Hall, and Paddy Moran. It won the Stanley Cup during the 1912 and 1913 seasons. The Quebec Skating Rink burned down in 1918 and was not rebuilt.
