Starting line – Race start

Let’s go! You’re at the perfect spot to cheer on participants as they cross the start line. This is also where you’ll begin your own rally across the site to help you follow the race and learn more about our event.

The start

The start of the Sun Life Snow Pentathlon is a Le Mans-style bike start. Cyclists must first start the run, and then pick up their bikes a few hundred meters further on. Once they’ve collected their bike, they must run to the boarding line, where they can then mount their bike.

DID YOU KNOW? 

Founded in 1845, the Quebec Snowshoe Club was Quebec City’s first snowshoe club. In the 1880s, when many other clubs were formed in the city, it was nicknamed the “Old Black and Red” after the colours worn by its members. Each club had its own colours, its own outings, often on the Plains of Abraham, and even its own song. As the song of the Union Commerciale Club went: “Let’s go daring hikers, let’s be on our way, it’s getting late…”
