Jean-Charles Ouellet&#8217;s retreat project, which brought together a few dozen participants at Lac-Beauport, has become a must-attend event in the Quebec City area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In <strong>2008<\/strong>, <strong>Best New Event in Canada<\/strong>, a title awarded by the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance;<\/li>\n<li>Unique event legacy of Quebec City&#8217;s 400th anniversary festivities;<\/li>\n<li>Since <strong>2010<\/strong>, the <strong>largest outdoor winter event in Canada<\/strong> in terms of number of participants;<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2014<\/strong>, presentation of the <strong>Quebec ITU Winter Triathlon World Premiere<\/strong>. Thanks to the development efforts of the Pentathlon Group, a new sport is born! Pentathlon Group continues its efforts to help the international development of the discipline;<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2014<\/strong>, the Quebec ITU Winter Triathlon was recognized as <strong>Discovery Event of the Year by Triathlon Quebec<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2014<\/strong>, the Quebec ITU Winter Triathlon received the <strong>Coup d&#8217;\u00c9clat Award<\/strong> for <strong>New Product or Original Activity<\/strong> from Festivals et \u00c9v\u00e9nements Qu\u00e9bec;<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2014<\/strong>, <strong>Best Winter Race in Eastern Canada<\/strong>, according to the readers of Get Out There Magazine;<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2015<\/strong>, finalist in the <strong>International Event category<\/strong> at the Gala Sports Qu\u00e9bec;<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2015<\/strong> and <strong>2016<\/strong>, finalist in the <strong>Tourist Event or Attraction of the Year<\/strong> category at the Gala des Fid\u00e9ides of the Qu\u00e9bec City Chamber of Commerce and Industry.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2017<\/strong>, the Pentathlon is also a finalist in the new category <strong>Event of the Year<\/strong> at the Gala des Fid\u00e9ides, in addition to breaking its own registration record, year after year.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2019<\/strong>, the Pentathlon celebrates its 15th anniversary!<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2020<\/strong>, the Pentathlon breaks its own record of participation again, with 6,156 participants.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2021<\/strong>, the Pentathlon is held in virtual mode due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which allows it to reach 15,691 participants, throughout the province and abroad.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2022<\/strong>, despite major restrictions due to COVID-19 health standards, the Pentathlon will attract 4,615 athletes to the Plains of Abraham, in addition to getting 8,020 young people moving as part of the &#8220;Pentathlon in your schoolyard&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2023<\/strong>, Sun Life becomes the title partner of the Sun Life Pentathlon des neiges. The event is presented in its original format, with no restrictions. 20 different challenges are offered and 6,112 athletes participate. A record is set for the elementary and high school invitational tournaments with over 2,100 registrants.<\/li>\n<li>In <strong>2024<\/strong>, the Pentathlon des neiges celebrates its 20th winter. The event is a success, and is a finalist at the Fid\u00e9ides gala in the \u201cEvent of the Year\u201d category.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>SOCIAL CONTRIBUTION<\/h2>\n<h3>OBJECTIF FORME<\/h3>\n<p>A contribution to the <a href=\"https:\/\/objectifforme.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Objectif Forme<\/a> project under the supervision of the R\u00e9seau du sport \u00e9tudiant du Qu\u00e9bec &#8211; Qu\u00e9bec-Chaudi\u00e8re-Appalaches (RSEQ-QCA), which gives thousands of young elementary and secondary school students the opportunity to get moving as part of extracurricular activities. In <strong>2024<\/strong>, the Sun Life Pentathlon des neiges donated <strong>$32,000<\/strong> to the Objectif Forme program.This money will allow hundreds of young people from families in need to register and participate in extracurricular activities.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1416\" src=\"https:\/\/pentathlondesneiges.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/Enfant-et-anneau-de-glace_5-fe\u0301vrier-2020.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1365\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Establishment of a 400-meter refrigerated ice ring accessible to all free of charge<\/h3>\n<p>The hosting of the Sun Life Pentathlon des neiges helps justify the establishment of a Quebec City infrastructure, <strong>a 400-metre refrigerated ice ring<\/strong> overlooking the St. Lawrence River, accessible free of charge to the public and tourists during the winter months.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;] MISSION Pentathlon Group is a non-profit organization whose mission is to develop innovative, unifying and high-impact sports events that provide emotions and enriching experiences.
