2nd Snowshoe Challenge – Raquettes GV

On Saturday January 28th, 2012, in the opening of the 2012 Snow Pentathlon program, the first Snowshoe Challenge – Raquettes GV will be presented, under the official Quebec Winter Carnival program.

A new classic is born! Be part of the race and forever, you will be able to say «I did that race!»

New in 2012: 2 races, 2 distances, double fun!

In addition of the classical 10 km race, as presented in 2011, the 2012 GV Showshoe Challenge - Raquettes GV will give you the possibilitié to complete a 4 km race. A good way to get ready for the Pentathlon races.

Exceptional urban route

The Snow Pentathlon Snowshoe Challenge–Raquettes GV uses an absolutely exceptional urban route, lined by thousands of spectators who came to encourage you. On Saturday January 28th, 2012 at 1:15PM, immediately before the «Grande Virée» of the Quebec Winter Carnival, the departure of the first Snowshoe Challenge–Raquettes GV will be launched just in front of the Château Frontenac. The route will then use the roads of Old Quebec, snowy specially for the event. It is once at the height of Loews Le Concorde Hotel, official hotel of the event, participants will enter on the Plains of Abraham to rally the usual course of the Snow Pentathlon with its large bridge and its spectacular arrival. 4 laps of course for a 10km of pure pleasure!

The 4km race will take place on the unique site of the Pentathlon. The race will be launch at 11:00AM.

Open to all – $1000 in awards

The race is open to all and everyone. Categories, by age group, enabling all participants to access the podium. For the 10 km race, $500 awards for men and $500 for women are divided according to the general classification.

**Fares are the same whenever you register for the 4km or the 10km race.

Participate in 2 different Snow Pentathlon Challenges and get a «Twin» fare

When you register for one of the traditional Pentathlon des neiges challenges, you get a «Twin» fare for your registration for the Showshoe Challenge–Raquettes GV for a very little amount.

This fare is available ONLY AND AT THE SAME TIME of your registration for another challenge of the Snow Pentathlon. To take advantage, you must choose "Yes I want to participate in the Snowshoe Challenge" when you complete your registration for the short distance, long distance, corporate or family and friends challenges of the Snow Pentathlon. Afterwards, it will be too late!

Twin fare is available for the solos, tandems (one twin registration per tandem) and teams (one twin registration per team).

Rules Relevant clauses of the rules of Pentathlon des neiges Challenges are applicable for the Snowshoe Challenge-Raquettes GV, especially those regarding the tolerated snowshoe dimension and area or penalty for missing laps.
