Pentathlon des neiges - Corporate Challenge

The Pentathlon des neiges is an absolute unique event in the world, where, in team-relay, participants must complete, without stopping, 5 disciplines : running, biking, cross country skiing, skating and snowshoe, for the competition, but mainly to have fun. The competition is accessible to everybody. Each participant must complete only one discipline, wich lenght between 15 and 30 minutes. Everyone can then come to represent your organisation and have fun with us!
Recognisez in 2008 as the best new event in Canada by the canadian tourism Alliance, the Pentathlon has become in 2010 the biggest outdoor event in Canada, in participation. 2900 participants were there in 2011, and more than 3000 are expected in 2012.
Overlooking the majestic St-Laurent river, with the first big outdoor skating loop on the Plaines of Abraham, the Pentathlon des neiges is considered to be one of the most beautifull heritage festivities of Québec 400th anniversary. A tradition is born. Be there for the 8th edition in 2012.
Since 2005, first known under the name of Pentathlon des neiges du Lac-Beauport, le Pentathlon des neiges de Québec is a reassembling event where participants complete, continuous 5 sport activities : cross country skiing, snow shoeing, ice skating, biking and running.
This recreational touristique sport product is an innovating event to promote durable health and physical activity.
The event will take place from January 28th to February 26th, 2012, on the historical Plaines of Abraham, a site with a superbe ice rink overlooking the St-Laurent river.

The RSEQ (Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec) recently launched a new program : « At school, I’m moving ».
« At school, I’m moving » is a project of gestion and animation of after school activities offerd to primary schools of the regions of Québec and Chaudière-Appalaches. This initiative responds to the needs of the members of the RSEQ and inscribes well with the mission of the organisation who valorizes sports in education and health.
In addition to the service of gestion and animation offerd by the program, a financial support will be available to allow families in need to allow them to sing up their child/children at an after school activity. The Corporate challenge of the Pentathlon des neiges is the main source of funds. All funds put towards « At school, I’m moving » will exclusively go to help families in need. More than 420 children took advantage of the program in 2011. We expect to help 500 children in 2012.
Subscribe one or many teams to contribute directly to the succes of the program all while obtaining a great visibility.

On Saturday February 18th, 2012, everybody meet to participate in the Pentathlon des neiges – Corporate Challenge.
Weather its for competition or simply to have fun, all motivations are a good reason to participate at the Corporate challenge. 2 trophys are at stake :

*Bike : Mountain bike or cyclo-cross tolerated. Slick tire prohibited.
**x-country skiing : The ski technique is freestyle. The trail will be prepared for « skate skiing » and « clasique skiing ». Both techiniques are allowed.
***Skating : The use of skates with long blades are allowed.

Beside the challenge, everyone is invited to participate in the event. Representatives of your organization in the competition team, collegues who would come to support your team(s) and possibly go back home with the Conviviality trophy! The Pentathlon gives you the opportunity to do some animation on the site on the day of the Corporage challenge. This way, you can show your colours, welcome all of your employees, families and why not give them a hot chocolate! Contact us to get more information on this possibility.

A amout of 10$ per team will be collected at the inscription to cover
the sanction expenses of Triathlon Québec.

For all organisations who inscribes 5 teams and more, The Pentathlon des neiges….
• Will create a tournament reserved to the teams of your organisation;
• Give a souvenir plate to the winning team of your tournament;
